PLease be aware of potential invasive species hitchhikers on your boats that you bring in for day use or camping.
If you are bringing in a boat, please power wash it and let it dry.
It is every members’ responsibility to keep our lake free of these invasive species!!

Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club's main property in Hopewell Junction consists of a several acre spring fed lake that is stocked a few time per year with several different species of trout. Most recently stocked with Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, and Tiger Trout (a hybrid of a male brookie and female brown trout) as well as a few prize Golden Trout. There is also Largemouth Bass & Sunfish that are always hungry for the kids as well as Crappies and Big Catfish.

The lake is open year round for fishing unless otherwise noted as closed after stockings. There is a sand beach for swimming in the summer with no life guard on duty and several campsites around the lake that can be reserved by contacting the lake chairman, Tom Whalen. Fishing is open to all active, life and honorary members, their wives, young children and daughters of any age to enjoy. No NYS fishing license required. Access to the lake area is permitted through the electronic gate which can be opened by key fob that is supplied by the club to all club members. Make sure your vehicle has the updated club sticker on it to show others that you are a member. Any member has the right to question anyone that doesn’t have an updated sticker in view on their vehicle. Please view the fishing and lake rules on this page so you, your family and all of your fellow members can enjoy this awesome club amenity.

The blue boats marked Whortlekill are for emergency use only!!! They are not for use by anyone for recreation!!! ANYONE FOUND USING THESE BOATS FOR ANY OTHER USE BUT EMERGENCIES WILL BE REPORTED TO THE CLUB PRESIDENT!!!
