ABOUT US

The Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club is situated on approximately 82 acres in the heart of historic Hopewell Junction New York, just off Route 376 North of town. Our organization was founded in 1935 by a group of railroad employees and local prison guards. The club was founded originally as a non profit organization designed to promote fishing and hunting in the Hudson Valley and has since maintained these roots.

Not long after it’s conception, the group purchased the property we now call home. Since 1938, the club’s primary funding was through the procuration of gravel from the property. This helped keep dues to a minimum and our group’s resources expanding.

Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club has shooting availability to the public for Pistol, Trap and Archery.  New members are welcome as we continue to expand our membership to include new generations of passionate sportsmen in The Hudson Valley. With a competitive assortment of range resources including pistol, trap and archery, we are certain you will feel at home as a member of the Whortlekill family.

Our club is extremely active both within the membership and community, meeting regularly on the first Thursday of Each Month on site at 7:00pm. The Board of Directors meet the Monday Prior at 6:00pm.
